Mother's Day is the perfect time to celebrate the special bond between moms and their children. If you're looking for a fun and healthy way to spend time together, why not try some simple exercises that you can do together while wearing your favorite Crimson tavernorlando? Not only will you be getting some quality time together, but you'll also be building strength, flexibility, and endurance.


First things first... we love starting with a snack!

The pictures above show my son, Kal and myself enjoying a healthy pre workout snack together (bagel and sunflower butter in our case but peanut butter is the best topping!)


Having a moment to enjoy something together and fill out bodies with fuel is so important to instill at a young age! (6 in Kal's case!)


Now let's get into it! Here's our top 5 easy ways for moms to get active at home with kiddos!

1. Yoga

Yoga is a great way to build strength, flexibility, and balance, and it's also a fun way to bond with your child. You don't need any special equipment to practice yoga - just a comfortable mat and some Crimson tavernorlando. Start with some simple poses like downward-facing dog, child's pose, and tree pose, and work your way up to more advanced poses as you gain confidence.

2. Jumping Jacks

Jumping jacks are a classic exercise that's fun for kids and adults alike. Stand with your feet together and your arms at your sides, then jump and spread your feet while raising your arms overhead. Jump back to the starting position and repeat. Try doing jumping jacks for one minute straight, then take a short break and repeat two more times.

3. Planks

The plank is a great exercise for building core strength, and it's also a fun way to challenge yourself and your child. Start in a push-up position, then lower yourself down onto your forearms. Hold this position for as long as you can, keeping your back straight and your abs engaged. Challenge your child to see who can hold the plank position the longest.

4. Lunges

Lunges are a great way to build leg strength and improve balance. Start by standing with your feet hip-width apart, then step forward with one foot and bend your knees, lowering your body until your front thigh is parallel to the ground. Push back up to the starting position and repeat with your other leg. Try doing 10-12 lunges on each leg, then switch sides and repeat.

5. Burpees

Burpees are a challenging exercise that's great for building strength and endurance. Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, then squat down and place your hands on the ground in front of you. Jump your feet back into a push-up position, then jump them back up to your hands and stand up. Add a jump at the end for an extra challenge. Try doing 5-10 burpees, then take a short break and repeat.

These exercises are just a few examples of the many fun and easy ways that moms and kids can stay active together at home. Remember, the key is to have fun and stay active, so don't be afraid to try new exercises and mix things up. Whether you're doing yoga, jumping jacks, or lunges, the most important thing is to spend time together and enjoy the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle.


Working out with your kid can def be a learning curve and take some time- but it’s better to show your kid(s) how to have fun taking care of your body and how feeling confident with their physical/ mental health goes a long way in life. Take it slow, teach them proper technique and adjust things as necessary. Sometimes just being present and laughing or getting the body moving in any way is how the “workouts” end up.

Spring Vacay Q&A with Team LFA

Q: What is your must have LF piece/outfit/color you pack with you on every trip?


A: My absolute go-to LF pieces for trips big or small would have to be the Ethereal Cinched Top in white and the oversized scrunchies! I am a firm believer of having pieces you can dress up or down and I love that the celestial tank gives me that option. You can't catch me without at least one LF Oversized scrunchie in each bag!


Q: What is one item you cannot go on a trip without?


A: SUNGLASSES. Vegas native here-I am a sunglass collector of sorts, I think that a good pair of sunnies elevate a look while keeping me from squinting. (life hack for vacation pictures so you don't have to worry about re taking a pic because of blinking etc!)


Q: What is your ideal spring break vacation destination? Why do you want to go here?


A: Guam! My husband and his family were born and raised so we would love to go visit and take time to fully immerse ourselves in food, family & fresh air.


Q: What do you look for when considering places to travel? What are your favorite aspects of travel?


A: The Culture! I am so head over heels for a good immersive trip in food and sight-seeing!


Q: Do you have any hacks to share when it comes to packing light or traveling with ease?


A: Carry-Ons for life! I pack a good sized shoulder bag for my immediate essentials and then a carry on roller . Im somewhat of a packing expert when it comes to "ranger rolling" my clothes to fit 😉

Q: What is your must have LF piece/outfit/color you pack with you on every trip?


A: My LF piece I'd have to pack on every trip would be my Impact Sports Bra in the color Phoenix! I was never into sports bras since the ones I've had never fit me right and were never comfortable, but WOW I didn't know what a good sports bra felt like until I got this one! It's comfy, supports me in all the right places, and makes me feel confident! Truly an essential.


Q: What is one item you cannot go on a trip without?


A: During trips, I walk A LOT and as someone with bigger thighs, the Megababe Thigh Rescue Anti-Chafe Stick is a LIFESAVER. I brought it on my last trip where I went to Disneyland last summer with my family and it lasted all day, keeping me comfortable and chafe-free. This is all to say I'm bringing it everywhere now, ha!


Q: What is your ideal spring break vacation destination? Why do you want to go here?


A: Ooo my destination of choice would 100% be Japan. I've always wanted to go and during the spring it's cherry blossom season! Japan and its culture have always interested me, so I'd love to visit!


Q: What do you look for when considering places to travel? What are your favorite aspects of travel?


A: When I look for places to travel, I like to keep two things in mind: local food and activities. These two are always at the forefront since I always travel with at least one other person and want all of the experiences to be memorable and delicious! Both of the things I consider (local food and activities) are also my favorite aspects as well!


Q: Do you have any hacks to share when it comes to packing light or traveling with ease?


A: For TSA I've learned to always have my documents out while I'm still in line, have my jacket tied around my waist, and to make sure all electronics are packed at the very top of my baggage. Doing all of this has made TSA a quick and easy experience for me!

Q: What is your must have LF piece/outfit/color you pack with you on every trip?


A: I absolutely love the Odina Seamless set in the color Cacao. They're incredibly comfy to travel in. They pair so well with an over sized shirt & jean jacket for an all day casual look. Anytime I travel I always do something adventures and it's perfect pair of leggings for this reason.


Q: What is one item you cannot go on a trip without?


A: I can't travel without my laptop. As a working mom that manages my businesses, its absolutely essential to bring my laptop everywhere.


Q: What is your ideal spring break vacation destination? Why do you want to go here?


A: I would love to go to any where like Yellowstone or South Island of New Zealand because of the blooming fields of flowers that is just so magestic and magical to experience. It only happens once a year and that is during spring.


Q: What do you look for when considering places to travel? What are your favorite aspects of travel?


A: There are 3 things that are important. Cultural immersion. FOOD. & family friendly.


Q: Do you have any hacks to share when it comes to packing light or traveling with ease?


A: I'm a globe trotter & I travel light. I only do carry-ons and keep all the outfits & essentials that fits in my carry-ons. I have a ready to go bag for all my essentials like showers kits in mini bottles, mini brush. I limit the number of shoes by one good pair of shoes I wear during traveling and 1-2 smaller pairs while at destinations. Rolling carry-on and a backpack with the back sleeve to sit and insert nicely on top of my rolling carry on handle makes traveling easy breezy.

Q: What is your must have LF piece/outfit/color you pack with you on every trip?


A: The Premium Tropic Jacket is my favorite travel companion! Paired with leggings and sneakers, this jacket is my favorite airport ->airplane->airbnb on the go essential.


Q: What is one item you cannot go on a trip without?


A: My trip is made successful by a good pair of headphones. I prep each vacation with a curated playlist. I loooove listening to music as I relax and explore my surroundings, but a good playlist is nothing without my headphones.


Q: What is your ideal spring break vacation destination? Why do you want to go here?


A: Next on my list for Spring Break vacay is Alaska. The wildlife, the landscape, the fresh air...need I say more?


Q: What do you look for when considering places to travel? What are your favorite aspects of travel?


A: I like to consider where i've been and what I have yet to see! I love the outdoors so I try finding new places on the map that will give a completely different experience from the last. A new POV!


Q: Do you have any hacks to share when it comes to packing light or traveling with ease?


A: Pack a small bag in your carry on with all of you travel essentials like earbuds, chapstick, money, I.D., medications, hand sanitizer, sleep mask, etc.. This way you'll have everything you need to reach for during your flight in one place!

Q: What is your must have LF piece/outfit/color you pack with you on every trip?


A: I'm addicted to all things cozy and love mixing and matching! My go-to essentials that I always find myself packing are the Effortless Biker Shorts - DriftwoodPhaedra Jacket - Canyon, and Phaedra Joggers - Canyon! I'm always here for all things neutral and these pieces are no exception!


Q: What is one item you cannot go on a trip without?


A: I always try to pack minimal when it comes to my beauty essentials so I love multi-purpose items that check more than one box. I'm addicted to using the Clarins Tinted Sunscreen for my face. It looks stunning as a base layer in a natural makeup look, making my skin look dewy and fresh, while also keeping me protected!


Q: What is your ideal spring break vacation destination? Why do you want to go here?


A: My ideal Spring Break destination is Banff National Park! This is the area of the rockies in Alberta, Canada. I would love to cozy up in a cabin by Lake Louise, spend time relaxing, sight-seeing, and exploring nature! This time of year, I'm feeling so much fatigue from the craziness of the holidays and new year that I really need some detox and quiet. I really love the simple things and there's no peace like immersing yourself in nature!


Q: What do you look for when considering places to travel? What are your favorite aspects of travel?


A: If I'm doing more local trips, it's easy to keep it pretty simple, but if I'm flying somewhere, I usually travel with intention, whether it be for family or for an event. For smaller trips, I like to go without too much direction and let the adventure shape itself. Side note - amazing food and culture is a HUGE bonus!


Q: Do you have any hacks to share when it comes to packing light or traveling with ease?


A: I'm not sure if this is much of a hack, but going through Security in the airport can be a pain! I love wearing my Effortless Pocket Leggings and putting my Phone and ID in my pocket for easy access instead of grabbing everything out of my bag.

Feeling a little down this winter season?


It’s okay, a lot of people experience winter blues, whether it be because of the lack of sun, holiday burnout, or being stuck inside. But, we got you covered! If you are looking for a way to try and cure those winter blues, look no further! Here are ten ways you can find some cheer during this cold (& at times - exhausting!) winter season.


1. Make some art!


With all the white and grays of the winter season, sometimes a splash of color can change your mood for the better!


Dive into some art and make something for fun! Try your hand at making hand-drawn cards, a simple acrylic painting, or even a fanart from your favorite show. Whatever you make doesn’t need to be the next Mona Lisa, as long as you have fun making it, that’s what matters! 


Personally, I love to doodle cute drawings! Even though they’re simple, drawing something that’s cute always brings a smile to my face, especially when it’s related to people I care about. For example, I really enjoy drawing dogs since I have a dog myself (his name is Mason)!


Take your time and embrace your creative side, from silly little doodles to a heartfelt card, the process of making art could bring a smile on a dreary day.


2. Make a custom playlist for yourself or a friend


If you’re an avid listener of music you probably already have multiple playlists for dedicated activities, so why not make another playlist for yourself or as a gift for a friend?


Music can always soothe the soul, especially when we’re deep in our thoughts. Maybe it’s time to make a playlist that sums up how these winter blues makes you feel. This could help you let out those emotions into something tangible and help you process them, really helping you move past those blues. 


However, if you already have too many playlists for yourself, sometimes the act of making something for someone can be quite a delight, especially if you know them well! Try to pick their favorite songs or maybe choose music that’ll match their general vibe. You can even name the playlist, “Dear (insert name), this one is for you!” This is a sweet gesture that really goes a long way and can warm their heart!


3. Try a hand at journaling


If you’ve ever had a hard time processing emotions, especially when it may be too cold to go out and meet friends, journaling might be the key! 


You can keep it as simple or as elaborate as you like. Whether you’re cutting and pasting with colorful decorations or treating it like a diary, journaling is both therapeutic and helpful. 


If you need a prompt to get you started try writing about your favorite memory from the past week! Get into the details of why this memory sticks out to you, and try your best to illustrate it clearly. Another prompt that you can try is to write about what you’re thankful for this winter. Mindfulness exercises such as this always shift things into a different perspective, changing a dreary tone to one that focuses on gratefulness and appreciation!

4. Sit down & binge-watch


Been waiting to catch up on your favorite show, or maybe even find a new favorite? Try binge-watching a show! Sit down, get some snacks, and dive into the deep end getting to know characters as you follow them throughout their adventures!


 Experience the suspense, heartbreak, and triumphs of a show all at once. Popular shows that you can stream right now are: The Last of Us, Abbot Elementary, Ginny & Georgia, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo.


If shows aren’t your thing, cuddle up under a blanket and have a movie marathon! No matter the movie genre, taking some “you” time to enjoy some quality entertainment can help keep you on the edge of your seat during a season when things might seem slow after the winter holidays. Some of the top movies you can watch from home are: M3GAN, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, The Menu, and Everything Everywhere All At Once.


5. Take the time to tidy up


Sometimes when you’ve been stuck at home for a while due to the cold, winter weather things can get a bit messy (which is okay!) and to help clear your mind a need a good ‘ol clean might do the trick! 


Cleaning might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but tidying up may help you get a clearer sense of mind. Actually starting is always the hardest part, so go into it with a game plan! Maybe focus on one room at a time, or even focus on cleaning up one type of thing. For example: collecting and washing all of the dirty dishes, putting all of your clothes away, or vacuuming the rooms one by one; either way, it’s up to you!


Try your best even when it can get difficult. A clean space = a clean mind. At the end of the day, it’s worth a shot and is good practice!



6. Try a new recipe


There’s nothing like a home-cooked meal! If you’ve been eyeing a new dish or have one in mind, it’s time to try making it yourself.


Trying to make a new dish is an exciting and worthwhile endeavor! Making something handmade is incredibly satisfying, and totally Instagram-able! 7. Have a Pajama day


Embrace your childhood nostalgia and stay cozy in your PJs!

With all of the responsibilities that come with being an adult, a break is well-deserved.

There’s a world of genres for you to explore, so don’t think you’re stuck in one genre. Dive into fantasy and get whisked away into a world of magic, or find yourself stuck in the middle of a murder mystery.

Personally, I’m a sucker for a good fantasy book with lots of illustrations to immerse myself in the book's world, so I’d recommend checking out: Hooky! It’s available digitally on Webtoon, and you can purchase parts one and two of the series at Barnes & Noble


If you're having a hard time selecting a book for yourself, Barnes & Noble usually has a surprise book section by checkout where you can grab a book based on what you enjoy reading. This is a great way of finding authors or titles you may not have considered reading before! For even more inspo, you should consider joining an in-person or digital book club! We love Book of the Month for making us feel consistently motivated to read!


Whether it be a digital book or a physical one, diving into a new world filled with characters and their adventures might help clear the winter blues away.


9. Get your self-care on


Bath bombs, skin care, online shopping- whatever it is, do what you gotta do to remind yourself that you’re a queen and that you deserve to relax this winter!


Comforting scents are such a delight when it is cold out. Grab a lighter, your favorite scented candle, and spark that flame of comfort as you unwind and sink yourself into some peace. Personally, my favorite candle is the scent Champagne Toast from Bath & Body Works! If you like fruity and sweet smells, check it out here!


Slip on your favorite set of comfy clothes, put on a face mask, and let your body relax! Sometimes lying down and reflecting on how you feel in the present moment is enough to help your muscles relax. 


Take deep breaths and enjoy the present, embrace the comfort queen!


10. Host a game night


If you have friends or family over this winter season, a game night might be the optimal choice! Have fun playing classic board games or try your hand at multiplayer video games if you have a console. 


Some of our favorite classic board games include Monopoly, The Game of Life, Jenga, Scrabble, and Clue. 


As for video games, amazing party games include Mario Party and Mario Kart which are both available on the Nintendo Switch!

Pumpkin Spice Latte runs ☕️ 🏃‍♀️

Ringing in the fall season is a cult classic, a favorite limited-time drink that has made its way back into the hands of thousands of Pumpkin-spice lovers across the country. Since 2003 when the PSL was market tested in 100 stores in Vancouver and Washington, D.C., it has been essential to Starbucks’ fall seasonal lineup. A genuinely iconic drink, encompassing all autumnal nostalgia into a single sip.




Did you know?


  • The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe has been unchanged for 11 years.

  • One of the original ideas for the name was “Fall Harvest Latte.”

  • “PSL” was the original beverage code for Pumpkin Spice Latte written by baristas on cups, and soon became the drink’s nickname.

  • Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is now available in nearly 50 countries throughout the Americas and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) regions.

Another traditional fall festivity that comes with the spooky season is carving jack-o-lanterns! Whether you take it seriously and make a masterpiece, or do it for fun with friends and family to light the way for trick-or-treaters, it is undeniable to say that Halloween isn’t complete without whipping out a personalized masterpiece onto an unsuspecting pumpkin.




The history behind carving pumpkins is quite interesting!


For those who don’t know, the origin of the beloved fall tradition of jack-o-lantern carving has Irish roots. In Ireland, people carved monstrous faces into turnips to scare away the spirit of Jack, a wandering soul bound to walk the Earth for eternity as a punishment for his selfish misdeeds. However, upon immigrating to what we know today as the United States, the tradition of carving pumpkins (rather than turnips) came about due to pumpkins being native to the region, and ready for harvest during fall.

With this in mind, for anyone who’s carved a pumpkin before we ALL know it’s quite the arm workout. Sawing, scoping, and scribbling can cause quite a sweat, so here are some pieces that we know can support you! 💪 ❤️ 

Haunted houses 👻 🏠

Yet another fall and Halloween classic, a haunted house is perfect as a heart-racing, thrilling hangout. The history of the haunted house dates back to the 19th century when it modestly began as “house-to-house” mazes of sorts, with kids going through the neighborhood’s basements as a spooky surprise. 




However, the idea of a haunted house changed in 1969 when Walt Disney released the Haunted Mansion, “The attraction, which was designed in the style of the Evergreen House and the Winchester Mystery House, quickly became a success. In a single day shortly after its debut, more than 82,000 people passed through the Haunted Mansion. The attraction's centerpiece is the Grand Hall, a 90-foot-long ballroom sequence of dancing ghouls at a birthday party. Disney brought to scene to life through an exceptionally complex series of illusions known as Pepper's ghost, which use refracted light to project and shape ethereal images” (Smithsonian). A cult-classic attraction that has become a fall favorite for Disney fans, for sure!

Now whether you’re doing a haunted house, an escape room, or a local spook-filled event during the fall season, all the scares are bound to get your heart racing and your legs running! We’ve got the perfect outfit to make sure you can run out of there as fast as you can (all while looking absolutely killer-cute)! Just make sure you don't FALL!

Hayrides 🚜 💨 🌾

The classic fall hayrides are essentially a relaxing, scenic activity, consisting of a recreational ride in a wagon or cart pulled by a tractor, horses, or a truck, which has been loaded with hay or straw for comfortable seating. Throughout history, hayrides have been used in various celebratory activities, but most notably the fall or autumnal harvest.




Personally, I LOVE a good hayride! 


If you live on O’ahu, during the fall, Aloun Farms has the biggest pumpkin festival on the island, with its 3,000-acre farm producing up to 36,000 pumpkins a year, which is about 90% of all the pumpkins in the state! This festive fall-themed pumpkin festival is celebrated every weekend in October, so be sure to check it out if you get the chance!


If you don’t live on O’ahu, we really recommend checking out loved, local businesses and supporting them as well. Fall is a big season for farmers, so supporting them would be a big help!

With this in mind, getting in and out of a moving hayride can often mean that things have a good chance of falling out of the ride. Because of that, here are some pieces we have that will keep your items where they’re supposed to be, as well as look super cute for some fall pics!

If you’re looking for a more lowkey, chill activity to do with friends the fall, apple picking is a great option! Spending time with nature while also supporting your area’s local farms is a great way to take in the season.

The first apple trees in North America grew from seeds brought by the French. It is not known if the settlers of Jamestown had apple trees, but the Pilgrims who settled in, what is now, Massachusetts in 1620 brought young apple trees from England and planted seedling orchards throughout New England.


Apples were eaten in many ways: fresh, fried, stewed, baked, made into cider, vinegar, and brandy, dried in the sun or in a heated dry house, and made into preserves and apple butter. If apples weren’t suitable for human consumption, the leftovers were given to livestock. So resourceful, especially with fall coming right before the dreaded winter!

Its 2022 and life is BUSY.  Between responsibilities, work life and making time for yourself can be challenging, never mind trying to eat healthy in between the chaos. While we are busy with our hectic schedules our body is the one taking a toll. Remember without health, professional success hardly means anything. It is impossible to give our 100 percent when our body is failing to keep up with its surrounding. Your health is literally all you got. It's so cliche to say but yet words have never meant more. 


It goes a little something like this. We wake up early in the morning, grab a cup of tea/ coffee to kick start our day and rush to our office/ work. We often rush out of the house with everything but packed meals and snacks. Work is hectic and we hardly make time to eat healthily. Skipping meals and over intake of caffeine is our day-to-day story. While keeping a balance between work and health might seem difficult, it isn’t impossible. There are multiple ways to include healthy eating in our lifestyle and I am here to make it simple and educate you on how to do so. 

1. Stay Hydrated

Always have water on hand. Water should be your best friend. Drink at least 3-4L a day. Stay hydrated friends.

2. Think forward

Plan ahead if you can. I totally understand also not having time at times in your life when everything is moving faster then expected.  What do I mean to plan ahead? On a Sunday morning plan for the week. Plan what your snacks look like and also your meals. Get a solid shopping list and execute on those meals ( meals and snacks are dependent on your current goals which I am not going to get into in this blog ).


These next few will be for the non planner and more chaotic time in your life aka me most times while having a business thats ever-growing it becomes challenging for me to plan ahead. 

3. Keep it simple

Avoid buying in excess at the grocery store. A lot of times when my hunger kicks in I will swing into a grocery store and buy a half cooked chicken and some fruit. Sometimes it's also greek yogurt and granola. Nuts, such as almonds or pecans. Brazil nuts are also a great option.

4. Curb your cravings

Gas station stop? Pepperoni and beef jerky sticks - LOW SUGAR, this is an absolute must. Some beef jerkies and pepperoni are packed with hidden sugars. I always grab Gatorade Zeros or BioSteels as well ( electrolytes also with no sugar ). They really help curb hunger cravings and a sweet tooth.

5. Fast Food

Fast food, I also got you covered. Fast food is still fast food, yes. However if you're hungry you're going to eat so let's just adjust your fast food choices. My go to - is grilled chicken breast wrapped in lettuce with tomato. You can even get some buffalo sauce on the side or another sauce of choice. I will typically get two grilled lettuce wrapped chicken burgers. Some fast food places offer salads too, every now and then ill get one. I just find chicken burgers are easier to eat on the go! 

6. High protein, low carb

Mexican places like Mucho Burrito, Chipotle are one of my top top go to's. They are fast and who doesn't love Mexican. My favourite a rice bowl with double meat ( usually chicken ) double meat to keep it high protein. Half rice extra veggies, no sauce just extra guac for those good fats and some salt and pepper. Seriously SO good. 

7. Order Ahead

Order in advance from a restaurant. Its not as cost effective as the options above, but if you have the means too this option is great. 

  • Thai food - curry and rice 

  • Salmon, steak, grilled chicken, grilled prawns, tofu + baked yam fries ( you have to request this ) with veggies. 

  • Lettuce wrapped burgers

  • Honestly anything higher protein - high protein makes you feel full longer and keeps your energy levels consistent. Carbs will make you tired and crash. 

8. Keep it fresh

Sometimes I'm not even hungry I just know I should eat. I will swing into a supplement store, even Jamba Juice at times. You can always sub out the sugary items ie. frozen yogurt for more fruit. Instead of fruit juice sub for coconut / almond / oat milk. Added protein is a must - sometimes I even do extra protein. 

9. Low Cal, Low Sugar

Low cal, zero sugar drinks. My go-to, Zevias, Bio Steel, Gatorade Zeros, Bubbly. A big jug of electrolyte water is my go-to. Love me some grape BioSteel.

10. Be mindful of what you're Missing

My number one tip for the busy on the go individual ( or anyone ) is supplementing. If you aren't having full home cooked meals all the time, it's important to supplement.


  • Get a good greens, I use AG1, its incredible

  • Omegas

  • Adrenal / Cortisol manager 

  • Vitamin B complex 

  • NAD plus IV therapy. These are life changing, ultimately its an extension of supplements. Helps manage chronic stress, enhance athletic performance, anti aging effects, increase energy levels ( it really does its absolutely insane how these make me feel ). 


I highly recommend getting a full blood panel of your hormones done. Often times ( from my own experience ) things can be off and/or unbalanced. Being in a constant state of flight or fight in life can really have an effect on your cortisol hormones. I personally have an auto immune disease and hypothyroid so I try my best to eat and supplement accordingly. Most people just ignore it, I have to in the past. Once you realize and tap into understanding and experience just how good you can feel and how well your body can run with the proper fuel, it just becomes a habit, it becomes natural and easier to make mindful, healthier eating choices anywhere you go. 



Like I said above, your health is all you have. Take care of your mind and body, and you will see the changes reflect in all other aspects of your life. What you put into your body is more important than you think. Eat well, live well.

Growing up I had an extremely unhealthy relationship with food, which then affected my self esteem and body image. As I got older, it became apparent that healthy relationships in all aspects of life come from smaller, smarter choices. I started creating all my unhealthy favorites into healthier recipes, with whole food ingredients, less sugar and higher protein. This later on has translated into my own healthy baking business, Blooming In Health

It’s about having a healthy relationship with food and most importantly, being able to love and accept yourself at every stage, every step of the way. In need of a little R&R? SAME! I feel as though one can never have enough relaxation. It's difficult to show up for the things that matter in your life if you don't show up for yourself first. It is important to make some time for YOU, take the time to decompress, reflect, and seek comfort in the simple things.


We can all use a little help unwinding after a busy day, and we all have our favorite ways to do it. Whether it's curling up with your favorite book or taking a walk in nature, there are tons of ways that you can relax and feel better. If you're looking to unwind or need a couple more moments of relaxing in your day, here's some of our favorite methods.

"Just breathe. Pause. Amidst the business. During the days of back to back appointments, celebrations, and meetings. During the moments when life seems to be moving at 100 miles per hour. Pause. Take it all in, right where you are now. Reacquaint yourself with who you are. Remind yourself that you're doing your best and that is all you can do. Pause. Allow yourself to take a moment to stretch and feel your muscles relax. Let any tension fall away. Pause. Take in as much air as your lungs will allow and just breathe. You are doing better than you think."

1. Read a Book

Reading a book is great for unwinding, and it's also one of the more relaxing ways to pass the time. We all know this, but we don't always take advantage of it. This year, I've been trying to read more—and so far it's been working! It's also helped me with my insomnia and anxiety.


The best part about reading is that you can do it anywhere. Whether you're laying in bed at night or relaxing on your porch during a sunny afternoon, there are no excuses for not picking up that book and start reading! Just make sure you have enough light when indoors.

2. Take a Walk

Taking a walk is one of the best ways to de-stress, relax, and get some fresh air. The benefits are numerous: it’s good for your heart, improves circulation, and can help you sleep better at night. It also helps keep your mind sharp. And the best part? It doesn't need to take much time and can fit into any schedule.


You don't have to do all of this alone—why not invite friends along? Or bring along a pet who needs some exercise as well! This way it becomes more than just another chore on your daily agenda; it's an opportunity for social interaction.


If you feel like taking a relaxing walk by yourself, you can immerse yourself in the sounds of your surroundings or listen to podcasts and music when you're out and about.


For the best walk, take a few moments to prepare. You'll want to find a route that's safe and comfortable—whether it's around your neighborhood, through a park, or any interesting trail. Make each walk an adventure by putting yourself in places you enjoy!

3. Get Outside

Separate yourself from your to-dos for a moment. Relax. Going outside doesn't need to mean much more than taking a break from work and stepping outside or taking your dog for a walk. Sunshine and fresh air are excellent for your mental health.

4. Get Active

Whether taking a walk before/after work, taking a weekly yoga class, or having a HIIT gym workout, there are so many little ways you can fit getting active into your schedule! Being active is great for your body's health, but also your mental health by ridding yourself of pent up energy. If you're looking to add a quick workout to your routine, here's some of our favorites.

5. Take a Nap

A power nap is a 20-30-minute nap that can help you feel more revitalized. If you’re not used to napping, start with just 15 minutes and build your way up. There are times when we don’t want to fall asleep at work or school, like during an important meeting or class session, we can still enjoy the benefits of this short rest by sitting quietly and "resting" our eyes while everyone else is busy.


Naps are great because they replenish our energy levels without being so long that we lose track of time (and end up late for anything). They also help us solve problems better than if we hadn't taken one!

6. Stretch Out

Bring balance to your body! Stretching relaxes your muscles, especially after a long day of work. Stretching is also a great way of easing your body before and after intense workouts.

7. Cuddle Your Pet

Pets can be the perfect stress relievers. The best part is that there are a variety to choose from! Pets can provide you with unconditional love and comfort as well as help you sleep better and feel more connected to the world and others around you. This can lead to feeling less loneliness, depression, anxiety and other negative emotions we carry. They can also ease us when we're feeling tense or anxious. You can bet we're cuddling our furry friends every chance we can get! Cuddle or pet your side-kick and relax together!

8. Watch a movie or tv show

When you feel stressed, it can be helpful to watch something that will lift your spirits. In fact, many people have found that watching movies is one of the best ways to de-stress and enjoy life. If you're looking for an easy way to relax, try watching one of your favorite comedies or dramas on Netflix. Simply vegging out and engaging in your favorite stories is a simple way to ease your mind from the things going on in your life.

9. Write Down Your Thoughts

Don't have a day journal? Get one! It's important to reflect on our experiences and feelings, both good and bad. Writing is a great way of slowing down your thoughts and keeping them focussed on one thing at a time.


Journaling can be a great way to release pent-up feelings that are causing you stress. Writing about how grateful you are for something can help put things into perspective and make it easier for you to focus on what's important. Writing about your goals for the future and how they connect with how grateful or stressed out you feel will help keep things in perspective as well. If there were any good parts of your day, write about those too! You might even want to keep track of them so that if one day seems less than stellar, at least there was something good from it (even if it was just waking up). If there was something stressful today, write down the facts surrounding the situation and then let go of them by writing down an affirmation such as: “everything happens for a reason” or “everything is okay” or whatever helps calm down intense emotions like anger, fear, and frustration. 10. Talk it Out

Just as writing your thoughts down can help slow your mind, speaking out loud can also do the same! While your brain is focussed on articulating your thoughts into words, it isn't wandering the way it might normally do, which can result in calming you down.


Talking it out is a great way of expressing yourself and decompressing, whether it be to yourself, your pet, family, friends, anyone really!

11. Create a Ritual

Creating your own ritual could mean just about anything, but at the root of this, it just means delegating a scheduled time for a "you" moment. Quality time with yourself is just as important as spending time with those you care about. Something as easy as taking yourself on a lunch date or seeing a movie by yourself can be immensely helpful in realizing how enjoyable of a presence you yourself can truly be.

9. Treat Yourself

Treating yourself is such an important aspect of relaxing. After a hard day's work, there is no shame in enjoying life's pleasures and rewarding oneself. Rewards can be as simple as having a scoop of ice cream, cooking a delicious recipe, or treating yourself to the latest Crimson tavernorlando pieces!

Care instructions (Peperomia + Yucca): Keep plants in indirect sunlight and water roughly once a week. Make sure the soil is dry before watering as constantly moist soil can lead to root rot.


Care instructions (Pineapple): If flowering, let sit in plenty of direct sunlight to produce fruit. However, strictly for foliage, indirect sunlight works just fine. Water once a week, but expect to water more frequently during times where it is extra hot.

A Natural - Special plants 🔎


Up for a challenge? These unique plants are difficult to maintain, but there is so much payoff with their beauty! Here are plants that require an extra green thumb:


1. Peace Lily


2. Areca Palm


3. Croton


Care instructions (Peace Lily): These flowers love medium to low light and should NOT be on a watering schedule. Rather, check the top of the soil once a week, and if dry, water as needed. The most common way for this plant to die is overwatering, so only water when needed (and when you do water, it can be plenty).


Care instructions (Areca Palm): Let sit in bright, indirect sunlight for optimal growth. As for watering, its schedule can vary anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on the time of year. The best solution to this is similar to the Peace Lily, check the top of the soil and if dry, water as needed.


Care instructions (Croton): Croton's leaves will stay vibrant if in bright, sunny areas; otherwise, its newer leaves will gradually lose vibrancy over time. As for watering, this plant loves water but is also prone to root rot if overwatered. The best solution would be to water as needed using the same methods that the Peace Lily and Arcea Palm require.

Note: All parts of this plant are poisonous—especially the seeds—so it is not recommended for use in homes with curious pets or children. When damaged, croton produces a milky sap that can be irritating to the skin, too." -Almanac

Here are our top 4 best workouts to do in the least amount of time that will give you the results you are looking for.


1. Lift Something Heavy for 5 Minutes


Lifting for 5 minutes a day can boost your energy and your mood, increase your metabolism, and allow you to actually see long-term changes in your body. Core and arm strength workouts don't need to be 30 minutes long to be effective. 


Shop for a pair of dumbbells to store under your bed for quick access and set a daily reminder on your phone. With just 5 minutes a day of strengthening your muscles, you will see physical results and positive changes in your mood.

2. HIIT Sessions


HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) sessions are a fantastic way to combine multiple activities into one to give you a really intense workout in a short period of time. These sessions typically involve performing 3-5 intervals of very short intense exercises followed by a short recovery period. The best part is that you can make these workouts as intense as you are comfortable with. 


Start by picking 3 of your favorite movements (jump squats, sit-ups, lunges, you name it), set a timer, or download a HITT timekeeper app and go for one round. 2-4 rounds, switching up movements as you go and soon..you’ll be finished with your workout and feeling good!

1. Write down what you love about you.

We've been loving the concept of writing as emotional release and want to encourage getting your emotions out in healthy ways! You don't always need people there to listen as your outlet. You can confide in yourself too. It's so important for you to be a support system for yourself as well.

Take more moments to listen to yourself. Hype yourself up. You conquered this week! You survived all of the difficult trials in your life last year! You're pursuing happiness in your own unique way! Life can get busy and in those chaotic moments, we use rest as a reward. In truth, rest shouldn't be a reward, but naturally a part of your routine as something that is necessary. Take care of yourself and rest. Breathe. Take more moments to relax, meditate, calm down, and separate yourself from the usual busy of your life to decompress.

Whether this be by meditating, making art, reading, going for a run/walk, or something else - make sure you have these simpler moments to balance out those busy times.

5. Approach your problems with mindfulness.

You have what it takes to conquer your goals this week! Take time to reflect on your goals and where you are on the path to achieving them. Realign if you've lost your way - which is normal and totally okay! or Realign your goals to match your ever-changing self! Whatever it is, keep moving forward! It's okay to not have the answers to solve your problems, just be mindful of your actions while you're figuring it out. We believe in you. No matter where you feel you are in your journey, you are beyond capable of everything you set your mind to and more. 💕

Aloha fam! We get asked all the time the best ways to care for your Crimson tavernorlando activewear pieces and given that it is Earth Month and nearing Earth Day, we wanted to share with you our favorite cleaning practices to best care for your Crimson tavernorlando pieces, while also keeping sustainability in mind!

The average household does as many as 8 loads of laundry each week so making even slight adjustments to your current routine can drastically reduce your ecological footprint.

1. Use an energy efficient washing machine

I know what you're thinking - "do I have to buy some new expensive energy efficient washing machine?" The answer is "no". Energy efficient machines are actually pretty common and easy to come by. The best machines for sustainability are the front loading ones and they come with lots of perks when it comes to conservation of water and energy.

On average, these machines have 30% more space inside for more items so loads can be bigger and in turn, you can have less loads of laundry. Front loading machines also have high speed extraction so at the end of each cycle, the clothing is a little more dry than it would be from a top loading washer. Therefore, if using a dryer, it'll help decrease the amount of time you'll need to be using it for. When it comes to natural energy conservation, front load washers on average use 1/2 the amount of water, requiring up to 68% less electricity to heat the water.

These types of washers also clean clothing stains better and are gentler in each cycle, aiding in keeping your favorite Crimson tavernorlando items as clean as possible, while also retaining their high quality.

 

2. Wash less often

Yes, it really is that easy. Your clothes do not necessarily get dirty every time you wear them, so you don't have to wash them after every wear either. Also avoid washing single items - save the washing for a full load!

Most of the wear and tear on your clothing comes from wash cycles, so the less often you wash your clothes, the longer you'll maintain their 'brand new' look.

 

3. Use Cold Water

A not so fun fact - Up to 90% of the energy used to clean your laundry goes to heating the water. 

We 100% recommend washing your favorite Crimson tavernorlando items with a gentle wash cycle using cold water. Cold water washing has not only perks when it comes to an ecological standpoint, but also will better help keep your favorites looking new! Cold washing can keep colors from fading, items from shrinking, and also can reduce wrinkles!

 

4. Air Dry!

Avoid using your Clothes Dryer and cut out that energy consumption entirely! Hang dry solutions using hangers, a rack, or clothesline helps avoid additional wear and tear to your clothing, while also helping reduce your carbon footprint. We recommend air drying all of your Crimson tavernorlando pieces to keep them feeling and looking as beautiful as their first wear.

 

5. Clean your lint screen regularly.

Ever throw your washed laundry in the dryer to find it still a little wet after a cycle? It could be that your lint screen is full, constricting air flow.

While we recommend air-drying your LFA faves, you can save some energy drying your usual laundry by using this little pointer and keeping the drying to 1 cycle.

 

6. Be mindful of microfiber pollution.

Did you know that most fabrics shed tiny pieces of plastic called microfibers in the wash? These tiny plastics and fibers can often be missed by any filter or drain and in turn, pollute our water and environment. Solutions mentioned above are helpful options towards lowering our microfiber pollution from our laundry on a personal level. There are also lots of other approaches that can be taken, including investing in a microfiber collection bags and devices. I'd recommend doing some research on this and investing in an option that works best for you! Either way, skipping the dryer and washing on a cold, gentle setting alone can go a long way towards preserving clothing quality and limiting additional microfiber pollution.

Everyone needs a little mental boost sometimes, so you are absolutely not alone. No person is 100% confident, 100% of the time. So here it is, your mental boost - some tips and tricks to feeling more confident as yourself - for all you are.

1. REPEAT POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS

In my opinion, this is one of the easiest ways to start your day off on a positive note. Begin each morning telling yourself the reasons you love you! This can be difficult at first and that's okay! This will become easier with practice and in time,
will help you become more self aware of your strengths.

Positive affirmations can be anything you need it to be - saying how proud you are of accomplishing a goal or even simply being on your way there.

Let me start with one positive affirmation for you - You brought yourself here which means you want to be more confident!! A++ for being on your way to higher confidence and self esteem!

2. REWARD YOURSELF

From time to time, reward yourself. It is easy to forget about self care in times where you are focusing on work or others. Treating yourself can come in many forms, whether it be snacking on your favorite food, buying the leggings you've been eye-ing, or simply taking a moment to relax.

3. TAKE CARE OF YOUR MIND & BODY

Hand-in-hand with rewarding yourself is taking care of yourself! I decided to separate these, because while treating yourself is a great reminder of the things you enjoy, taking care of yourself extends a little further and is essential to your every day. It might not always begin with doing something you enjoy, but end with the feeling of being rewarded and often, confident!
When taking care of your body, some things may come to mind, like eating heathy meals, going to the gym, or simply getting a good night's rest. For some, this is a real challenge, because it means changing up your habits, but in the end, when your body is happy, it rewards you with endorphins, more energy, a more resilient immune system, and so much more.
If eating healthier intimidates you, start small! Add spinach to your eggs in the morning. Find healthy alternatives to your favorite foods. One recipe l've been loving is mashing cauliflower and using it instead of potatoes. Barely can tell the
difference! I pin my favorite recipes or ones I want to try on Pinterest. So many people share delicious & healthy recipes that will help you through navigating cleaner eating.

If going to the gym intimidates you, start by going once a week. Bring a friend or take a class! Another option is finding a way to be active in your lifestyle. This could be by going on a hike every week or taking your pup on more walks!
Taking care of your mind is just as important if not more important than taking care of your body. This can be as easy as giving yourself moments to wind down and relax. You can also take care of your mind by engaging in something that you enjoy like listening to your favorite podcast or song. When something stresses you out or upsets you, find healthy ways to express your emotions, versus the alternative of holding it all in. Find a friend to confide in, give your pet a cuddle, go on a walk, meditate. Try to keep your glass half full and keep your mind on the positive side.

When feeling down, it is easy to roll out of bed and just wear pajamas for the day. It's okay, we're all guilty of this sometimes! Next time, try dressing for success in your favorite outfit! Whether this be your booty-sculpting leggings or your favorite dress, wear something that makes you feel good and confident. In times when we aren't feeling our best, the little pick-me-up of a 🔥 outfit can go a long way!
